Kanu:

With a large whack to the head, Kanu stumbled backward, nickering as an unpleseant headache formed in the center of his eyes. He shook his head, trying to organise his thoughts and cease himself of the now dull ache. Bearing his teeth, Kanu leapt toward Jove, purposely missing him so his behind was facing Jove's ribs. With every ounce of strength he had in his clydesdale legs he kicked outward, the force of the collision jerking him forward after he had lashed out numerous times like a bucking bronco.

He didn't intend to use all his strength, but his temper was generally short and violent acts toward him- whether in a spar or not- often made him mad and made him feel the need to retaliate with more force than before. After kicking out, he spun around to face Jove, his icey blue eyes holding a fire to them that was rarely seen.

Jove:

The younger stallion got a bit hot-headed at Kanu's fake miss, so when he felt the jolt of hooves into his ribs it caught him completely off guard. The first blow alone completely knocked the breath out of him, the second didn't feel as bad because of the adrenaline and shock that set in, and as Jove jerked away the third strike mainly grazed him. He staggered over a bit, wheezing to catch his breath. He kept his eyes locked on Kanu, then spit up a bit of blood. The taste of iron in his mouth made him a lot more serious about the fight. He couldn't give in there, however.

As soon as he could fill his lungs again he went back into full-fighting mode. The throbbing pain in his ribs added initiative. He wasn't thinking very clearly either. He reared up on his back hooves, kicking around a bit. He tried to keep Kanu at a distance until he could recover from the blow a bit more. His heaving breathing but more strain on his ribs, and he wasn't sure if they were broken or bruised but they were definitely a big problem for him. He hoped none of his organs inside had taken much damage.

Kanu:

Seeing Jove falter after his attack, Kanu smiled, feeling a slight amount of regret for using such force when he didn't plan to. As he waited for Jove to come to, he hopped on the spot raising onto his tippy toes before hitting the ground again. He pawed the earth, this fight proved to be quite fun. He had been filled with so much stress without realising that it all seemed to be erupting.

Was he... Dancing? Jove just looked to be flailing about for a while, and at first Kanu didn't really know what to do. His ears lay flat against his neck as he pivoted from side to side, trying to move around to Jove's side so he could launch himself upward and onto his back. He attempted to, but just missed as Jove reared away from him. Kanu grunted, instantly surging forward to try again. At the moment the only thing he was battling was a dull headache, exhaustion hadn't really settled in, this wasn't much of a fight in his eyes. With harsh jaws Kanu bit Jove on the withers with every open opportunity he had in between Jove's awkward movements.

Jove:

He couldn't dodge Kanu forever, and when he felt his teeth sink into him just above the shoulders he yelped a bit, then threw himself in the direction of the bite, springing up off of his own hooves. Jove knew that a horse's jawbone was a bit too long and thick to dislocate that easily but he assumed it was enough force to do some damage. He did, however, land on the ground on the side of his ribs that had been kicked, which shot pain into him all over again. He rushed to stand back up, cringing a bit, then turned quickly to see how Kanu had taken the blow.]
